We have our roots in Siegen "Siegerland", where for centuries ore-mining and melting of iron influences the city and its habitants. A strong industrial area for steel developed in Siegen.
PASS+CO was founded in 1852.
In the beginning, plates from "Siegerländer" profiling mills were processed into ash boxes, tubes and steel troughs.
The founder of the company, Hermann Müller I., was one of the first to introduce the autogenous cutting and welding process in the region.
In 1893, he retired from his activities in the business.

Heinrich Pass
The son-in-law of Müller 1., Heinrich Pass, joined the company and started to promote products outside the region of "Siegerland".
He introduced galvanised water buckets to East Prussia, where they used wooden buckets were used most commonly.

1935
Every year the company expanded and in 1906 an in-house galvanising plant was added to the factory.
Heinrich Pass retired of his duties as manager of the company in 1935 and handed over his sole ownership to his successor, Carl Hiekmann, his son-in-law.

1937
In 1937, the production was relocated to Siegen-Weidenau, "Industriestraße".

1955
Since 1955, steel road safety barriers have been manufactured and galvanised in the factory, as well as installed by own assembly crews and subcontractors.
The company grew from 50 employees in year 1910 to 300 in year 1960.

1968
Karl Heinz Hiekmann
In 1968, Karl Heinz Hiekmann, the 4th generation continued the business and established a second location in Bad-Berleburg, Berghausen, where we were processing heat-resistant stainless steel according to customer drawings, containers and apparatus constructions for chemical industry.

1987
In 1987, H. Georg Hiekmann took over the management in the 5th generation and expanded the service sector.
He restructured the company and initiated the specialisation of the company into traffic safety systems.
At this stage we offered complete solutions for steel barrier systems, starting at project planning, designing, production, galvanising to assembling with own installation crews on the roads.

1990
With the German reunification in process, we started delivering roadside safety barriers to former East Germany ("Deutsche Demokratische Republik") and established a broad network with installation companies on site and assembled our barriers.

1992
A fully integrated management system with quality, environmental and occupational safety management for the organisation and personnel, was created.
In 1992, we received our first DIN ISO 9000 quality management certification.

2002
Jan B. Morajka and H. Georg Hiekmann are founding our Polish company PASS+CO sp.z.o.o.
Marek K. Jach was the successor of Jan and has retired from his duties and as a shareholder in 2019. We are forever grateful for the partnership, mentoring and cooperation!
Lukasz Linkiewicz is the successor of Marek and J. Marten Hiekmann is the successor of H. Georg Hiekmann.

In 2008, we acquire the company KVS Kren-Verkehrssicherungs-Systeme GmbH and rename it PASSCO.DE GmbH, which is at this time reorganised to become an assembling company for the south part of Germany.
Werner Mattes became authorised representative of our company PASSCO.DE GmbH.
Andreas Osther became authorised representative of our company PASS+CO MONTAGE GmbH.
Rolf Müssener became authorised representative of our company PASS+CO BARRIER SYSTEMS GmbH.

In 2013, J. Marten Hiekmann becomes 50% shareholder and General Manager of our company PASSCO.DE GmbH and works on roadside safety barrier projects for South American markets.

Guillaume Conrad and J. Marten Hiekmann establish the company PASS+CO C&H Sarl and offer road safety services in France.
Andriy Yevdokymov and Maksym Nazarenko, together with J. Marten Hiekmann, found our company PASS+CO PASSCO.UA Ltd. in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Marin Dekovic and J. Marten Hiekmann found our company PASS+CO ADRIA d.o.o. in Rijeka, Croatia. The new joint venture concentrates on sales and installation capacities of roadside safety barriers within the region.

Girts Tobijs and J. Marten Hiekmann found our company PASS+CO BALTICS SIA in Riga, Latvia. The new office is responsible for the business in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

The company PASS+CO Denmark ApS is founded by Carsten Aagerup, together with Lukasz Linkiewicz and J. Marten Hiekmann in Hillerød, Denmark. The team offers full service of road restraint system material delivery and installation for Denmark, together with noise barrier installation.
